Live Field Recordings

Beginning in the early 1960’s, I collected tunes and songs in living rooms scattered throughout the Appalachian mountains. The friends who shared their music with me are now long gone. Most of these people predate radio and mass media. Making music in front of their hearth, or on their porch, carries on the age-old tradition of “passing it along”.
